 Kelly Covic has been teaching at Dayspring Academy for 14 years. She has taught Humanities, Musical Theater, Band and Choir at the Secondary level and is currently teaching Music at Dayspring Elementary School. She has established an after-school ukulele club once a week, and a morning choir that meets two mornings a week. She is certified in K-6 Elementary, Middle Grades Integrated and Music K-12 and is a current member of FMEA. At the end of this school year she will have participated in 42 productions at Dayspring Academy.
 Melissa Heaton teaches Drama at Dayspring Academy Elementary School. This is her first year teaching at Dayspring. She enjoys working with such an incredible group of educators at DSA. Melissa holds a Bachelor’s of Art in Performing Arts from the University of Tampa, and has had much success in her performing career. She has always had a passion for performing and is so thrilled to be able to share her knowledge with the learners at DSA! She is happily engaged to Charlie Feldman who is a Police Officer for the city of Tampa! They have two crazy dogs named Juno and Eli and if it were up to her, would have hundreds more. When she is not at school you can find her hiking, boating or taking a tap class at the Patel Conservatory! Melissa is so thrilled to be directing Mary Poppins this year and cannot wait to see how it all turns out! The learners are very talented and it brings her so much joy to work with them each day! She says it's an honor to spend each day encouraging learners to and helping them develop different acting, singing and dancing skills. She absolutely loves coming to work, and thanks you for sharing your learners with her!  Victor Lamar is in his sixth year of teaching Art and Humanities at Dayspring. He has a degree in the History of Art from the University of South Florida where he spent his time learning about architecture and art from the greatest Renaissance artists to modern masters. His love of all things art extends to his classroom and personal life as a painter of portraits, horses, and landscapes. Everyday is an opportunity to make art pART for your life!  Hillary Blythe Ure is the dance instructor for Beginning, Advanced, and High School Dance at the Secondary School. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Cross-cultural studies and Youth ministry and has a passion for seeing young adults pursue their dreams and develop into leaders in their community. She began dancing at a young age and has experience in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, and Hip-Hop. She started teaching dance classes and operating summer dance camps in High School for Firethorn Dance Academy in Tampa, FL. In addition, she worked as a office manager at Firethorn Dance Academy, organizing performances and dance competition events. For two years, while living in Shanghai, China, she taught classes at Star Zone Dance Studio and helped run their summer Musical Theater camp. She loves how dance is a means to develop creativity, self-expression, coordination and valuable life skills. Dance at the Middle School and High School level is transformational to the learner in his or her education and development as a human being.  Audrey Windlan teaches Visual Art at Dayspring Academy Elementary School. This is her third year teaching at Dayspring. Before she began teaching art, she enjoyed five fabulous years of teaching second grade at DSA. She enjoys working with a great team of educators at DSA and being part of the Arts Team. She has two daughters who are both learners at Dayspring Secondary School. Audrey is happily married to Harold Windlan who teaches Social Studies at DSA Secondary School. They have a crazy dog named Hazel and a cat named Bitsy. Audrey was lucky enough to teach in China last summer with a group of Dayspring teachers and it was an experience that absolutely changed her life. She and her family are very involved with Odyssey of the Mind at Dayspring. She and her husband both coach and coordinate OM, as well as serve on the Gulf Coast Odyssey of the Mind Board of Directors. Her daughters have both been participating in OM since they were in second grade. OM focuses on solving problems creatively and teaches skills that will last a lifetime. I love coming to work! Thank you for sharing your learners with me!"  Timothy Mathews is the performing arts instructor for grades 6-12th at Dayspring Academy. He has 16 years of performance and teaching experience. Tim is a graduate of Florida School of the Arts and Eckerd College where he holds a B.A. degree in American Culture and Musical Theater with emphasis on entertainment. As a professional actor, he has worked with touring companies in Virginia and Florida. He has performed for Children's Theater, Dinner Theater, community and professional theater. He and his wife currently own a children's theater in clearwater where they work to enrich the lives of students throughout the Tampa Bay area! Tim joined the family at Dayspring Academy in 2016 taking over the Musical Theater production classes. This is absolutely a dream come true for Tim as he as been working diligently to build a strong program and introducing new programs into the performing arts. Currently, Tim teaches Musical Theater 101, Musical Theater Production, High School Theater, and 2 Technical Theater classes. He works with the team at Dayspring Academy to produce two large shows with the middle school and a high school production. He also charters two competition teams. A junior thespian competition team for grades 6-8 and a high school thespian competition for grades 9-12. He is a member of Florida Association of Theater Educators and the International Thespian Society.
 Chris Calleja has been in education for over 20 years and believes that to be a teacher you need to know it is a calling, not just a job. He has been an educator to all levels; preschool, elementary, high school and adults. His support of the Arts at Dayspring, through managing volnteers and set design makes him a great asset to the Arts Team. One of his favorite quotes is “People don’t care how much you know till they know how much you care.” He believes building relationships with our learners and others is so important in education. Coach Calleja is a proud Father of two son’s: Luke and Mark. His oldest Luke is 21 and his younger son Mark, is 18 . When he is not at school he is usually involved in leadership at church. He enjoys being involved with ministry and ministering to others. Coach believes he is blessed to be part of the Dayspring Family.
